Recap: Toronto goes to the Finals ( Canadian Championship )
Toronto Fc had the best chance to capture for the second time in less than a Month another Canadian Championship.
As soon as the game started , The Red seems to go on a high tempo style of play.
Jayden Nelson had the first opportunity to open the scoring just ( 2 ) two minutes after kickoff. He was able to beat Gabriele Corbo to the ball.
Toronto Fc and Montreal saw a fair amount of possession in the opening 10 minutes.
In the 14th minute, We started to see Ayo Akinola’s and his striking partner, Jesus Jiménez , play better
Toronto Fc Fans saw a mistake by O’Neill , he was inches away from scoring an own goal. Thankfully, the ball went just wide of Quentin Westberg’s net.
Toronto Fc made it 1-0 in the 39th minute with a goal from Akinola. Great passes from Kosi Thompson, Michael Bradley and Nelson. Nelson , Jesus Jimenez ,and Luca Petrasso .
Toronto Fc second goal ( 2 ) would get his brace in the 53rd minute of the game. Alejandro Pozuelo and Jiménez exchanged passes ,and the final destination was Ayo Akinola ‘s second goal .
Toronto Fc Fans were able to see the return from Jonathan Osorio , Chris Mavinga , and Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty was subbed in to the match as well, playing his first minutes at BMO Field since he sustained an injury to his right knee three months ago.
Just few minutes later ( 75 ‘ ) The Reds added a third goal. Thanks to Jesus Jiménez took advantage of the opportunity and scored his first goal since April 30th. Toronto 3 – Montreal Impact 0
When everyone thought was the end , Toronto Fc then scored again in the 78th minute to make it 4-0. The play started with Osorio and Pozuelo sending passes to one another
Alejandro Pozuelo will end it up with the las t goal of the night , making it impossible to Montreal impact to come back .
TFC’s next match is on Saturday, June 25th against Atlanta United at BMO Field. Kick-off is set for 7:30 pm EST.
