The Canadian Premier League today unveiled a new logo in celebration of the league’s upcoming fifth season, ahead of the announcement of the 2023 regular season schedule, presented by WestJet, in the coming days.

Inspired by the pentagon shape associated with classic soccer balls, the five-year anniversary logo pulls elements from the emblem that has become synonymous with the Canadian Premier League over the first four years of its history, through a consistent colourway of pitch green, night sky blue and ocean blue.

The reoccurring use of the maple leaf serves as a nod to the League’s continued commitment to being a leader in the development of soccer in Canada, while the oversized No. 5 is a clear reminder of where the League stands today. The new logo will be used in conjunction with the League’s original emblem over the course of its fifth season.

“We are excited to unveil a distinct logo in celebration of our fifth season in 2023,” said Mark Noonan, Commissioner, Canadian Premier League. “Reaching the five-year mark for any professional sports league is an important milestone to acknowledge as it recognizes the hard work of all our stakeholders, especially the supporters who understand the vital importance of having a strong Canadian domestic league.  While taking a moment to celebrate this achievement, we understand our journey is just getting started and much work remains to achieve our dreams as a League and sport.”

The unveiling of the League’s fifth-year anniversary logo serves as a precursor to the announcement of the 2023 regular season schedule, presented by WestJet. The League will announce the matchups for opening weekend of its fifth season on Friday, Jan. 27, with the full regular season schedule to be revealed on Monday, Jan. 30.

The 2023 Canadian Premier League season will be broadcast on dedicated soccer One Soccer channel available to all Canadian households through OneSoccer.ca, via Roku, Chromecast and Apple TV devices and with the OneSoccer app for iOS and Android devices. OneSoccer is also available to more than one million Western Canadians as a linear channel on Optik TV (Ch.980), the pay-TV service operated by Telus, one of Canada’s ‘big three’ telecoms companies, as well as on streaming service fuboTV Canada, where it sits alongside a range of other premium sports offerings, including English Premier League and Serie A channels. The 2023 season will also be available to fans abroad through Fox Sports in the United States as well as through other selected broadcasters worldwide and globally through the OneSoccer website and app.
