Horrific Scene at Scotiabank Arena as Fire Breaks Out in the Crowd
Tonight, the Toronto Maple Leafs are playing against the Ottawa Senators in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series and the game is at Scotiabank Arena.
Some troubling scenes at the Scotiabank Arena tonight as the Toronto Maple Leafs are playing the Ottawa Senators in Game 1 of the NHL Playoffs.
According to David Pagnotta of the Fourth Period, a fire broke out in section 300 and fans had to be evacuated. Some weren’t able to get to their seats for some time as emergency services arrived on the scene.
There was a fire inside the 300 level of Scotiabank Arena, and part of the concourse is temporarily closed. Fire department is on scene and the fire’s been contained. If you’re in attendance and can’t get to your 300 level seat, that’s why – but you should soon.
It was later revealed that the fire was contained and fans were able to get back to their seats, which is fantastic news and we are very happy to hear that.
The emergency staff at the arenas throughout the NHL are extremely well-equipped for this kind of thing and we thanks them for their services.
Unfortunately for the Senators, this has not stopped the Toronto Maple Leafs from having a phenomenal game so far.
Toronto Maple Leafs destroy the Ottawa Senators
We are halfway through the game and the score is currently 4-1 in favor of the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Senators are taking bad penalties and the Leafs are taking advantage.
Meanwhile, Linus Ullmark has been getting lit up so far as well which does not bode well for him going forward.
If you are a Maple Leafs fan, this has been the best start to the postseason possible and you can only hope that this team finishes out the game and continues this all series long.
Hopefully, the Leafs can hang on and finish off this game once and for all.
