An unfortunate injury for AFC Toronto, Amanda West, who sustained an ACL injury. She will undergo surgery with the Houston Dash, as the Houston Dash were the ones who loaned West to AFC Toronto.
- Houston Dash forward Amanda West sustained a season-ending knee injury while on loan with AFC Toronto of the Northern Super League, the NWSL team announced on Thursday.
West, 24, was on loan through Aug. 18 and will return to Houston for surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament, the team said. West tallied one goal and one assist, 17 shots and six shots on target in 16 matches (six starts) for Houston in 2024.
Houston also announced that goalkeeper Heather Hinz was activated from the 45-day injured list and will be eligible for selection on Friday, when the Dash (1-3-1, 4 points) host Utah Royals FC (1-3-1, 4 points).
Hinz, 23, made three appearances across all competitions in his first season in Houston in 2024 and allowed three goals with five saves in her one league match.
Houston also placed defender Allysha Chapman, 36, on the 45-day injured list. The Canadian injured her arm during training earlier this month. Chapman, who has yet to play this season, has had two stints with the Dash (2015-16, 2018-present) and has two assists in 113 matches (107 starts).
Wishing her all the best and a speedy recovery
